I received this pendant on my 35th birthday ( last year) from my mothers best friend Anna. She was visiting from Washington, USA and hadn’t seen my mother in over 20 years. We were sitting at the Ritz drinking High Tea, when Anna.. having drunk some champagne, launched into a story of how my mother had had a 4 year affair with a man called Vladimir in Sydney while she was here on her own in Australia securing a visa. I was meanwhile back in Russia waiting for her to come back..I had always wondered what took her so long.
